International training

One of the cornerstones of PTL Ministries is training. The first international Bible school was held in Romania in the middle of the 1990’s. After this many one-year Bible schools were started up in different places in the world. PTL Ministries has developed its own program, whose goal is to take the student from disciple to full-time ministry for Jesus.

Some Bible schools have been run for a limited number of years, so as to train a larger group of church planters for a region or a mission’s organization, as has been done in Jerusalem. Other Bible schools, like the one in Delhi, have been developed into apostolic centers and today include both an extension year and correspondence courses.

Most important of all is the purpose: To provide the body of Christ with competent church leaders who are on fire for God, who with strong character and integrity meet the continual need of more leaders.

In addition to these things, PTL Ministries has trained thousands of leaders over the years in specially designed three-day seminars that focus on three areas:
1. The importance of preaching Jesus
2. How to lay the foundation for building the Church of the End Time Revival
3. The leader’s character, mission and duty

These leadership days are groundbreaking and delve deep into the leaders’ personalities. Many pastors have confirmed afterwards that the teaching they have received from pastor Tommy Lilja during the leadership days has made the difference between success and failure in their churches. Others have said that they have received a completely different understanding of Jesus, the Bible and themselves.

The next phase, which will start in the fall of 2008, is a training course for apostles and crusade evangelists called School of the Crusader. In this course a select few students will receive special training for the challenging task of preaching the gospel in places where no one or very few have preached before. This is training where the student is expected to live in faith and pay the price required of the evangelists in the spirit of the church of Acts, but who will also experience Jesus in a way that few Christians do on this side of life.
